Purpose of the Role

The Community Engagement and Access Liaison at the SPCSA focuses on building strong connections between the agency and Nevada communities. This position helps ensure that families, educators, and the public can easily access information, services, and resources provided by the SPCSA. The role also promotes inclusive and effective communication that meets the needs of all Nevada residents.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as a point of contact between the SPCSA and minority, underserved, and community-based organizations.
• Strengthen public engagement and outreach to ensure that all residents are aware of and can access SPCSA services.
• Promote agency-wide understanding of best practices related to inclusive communication and accessibility.
• Offer technical assistance and support to schools, families, and stakeholders navigating SPCSA programs.
• Collaborate with other state agency liaisons to improve coordination and effectiveness of community services.
• Serve as the designated Diversity and Inclusion Liaison (DIL) for the SPCSA, as required under NRS 232.0083–232.0087.

Partnerships and Collaboration
In fulfilling the DIL function, the Community Engagement and Access Liaison works closely with organizations such as:
• Governor’s Office for New Americans (ONA)
• Office of Minority Health and Equity (NOMHE)
• Nevada Commission on Minority Affairs (NCMA)
• Community-based and nonprofit partners across Nevada
